McKissack and McKissack has an opening for a Chief Growth Officer (CGO). The CGO will drive company growth and is ultimately responsible for ensuring a unified company approach to business development and marketing. McKissack & McKissack, an outgrowth of the oldest African American-owned architecture-engineering in the country, has a strong reputation for consistently delivering results on high-profile projects for government and private sector clients. What’s the Job?

The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) will drive company growth and is ultimately responsible for ensuring a unified company approach to business development and marketing. The CGO looks internally and externally to find new pathways to grow the company. In addition, the CGO will oversee and manage, in a dual reporting structure, with the VP of Communications the marketing department and in a dual reporting structure with the VP of Operations the business development efforts of the office and practice leaders.

Areas of Accountability:

Develop and Implement Strategic Plan for Company Growth

·        Listening to trends in the market and directing market research

·        Ensuring a unified company approach to clients, pursuits, and strategic partners

·        Defining Business Development objectives and strategy for Company Business Plan

·        Leads the Strategic Planning

Develop relationships with key clients and Strategic Partners

·        Develop and implement a clients and strategic partners feed back and tracking system

·        Maintain clients and strategic partners relationships

·        Develop new client and strategic partners relationships

Lead, manage and coordinate business development efforts for all aspects of the company

·        Oversee business development efforts of office and practice leaders

·        Build and oversee the efficient and effective business development team

·        Set revenue targets for BD team and office and practice leaders

·        Develop and manage a trackable Pursuit Strategy System

Lead and manage the coordination of business development with marketing

·        Marketing will have dual reporting to CGO and VP of Communications. (Roles to be discussed)

·        Final approval on Go-No-Go process

·        Final approval on teaming arrangements (work with CFO on financial performance)

·        Oversee presentations and proposal

·        Develop Best practices for presentations

Responsible for all Company Growth Reporting

·        Business Plans and quarterly updates on company growth

·        Reporting to Advisory Board on Company growth

·        Overseeing weekly BD and city meetings and reporting

·        Reporting on key targets and market sector objectives

·        Develop and maintain lessons learned (Analyzing Losses) tracking system

Addition Responsibilities

·        Sit on BOC for major contracts as required

·        Assist with Talent Acquisition for Growth

·        Coordinate with VP for Communications for PR campaigns

Outcome

·        Coordinated business development effort

·        Trackable business development

·        Increase sales to $50M/year

Qualifications:

Has run national companies or departments with revenues exceeding $30M and over 150people

Humble, Hungry, and Smart attitude

10+years of management experience

15+years’ experience driving & executing best-in-class strategic and creative growth and marketing within the AEC industry is motivated by adding value daily

Excellent communication and organizational skills
