Our Chicago, IL office has an immediate opening for a Director of Business Development. You will be an essential member of our growing team by transforming our client’s vision into a strategy, converting that strategy into a plan, and moving quickly into executable action.

Your Role (High level):

The Director of Business Development will lead the development and execution of GSIS growth strategy including managing all aspects of account growth, new business development, customer relationship management across all levels, and participating in industry events.  The Director of Business Development is responsible for a full range of business development activities from relationship building through initial capture management strategies.

Your Role (Logistics):

Reporting To: Chief Growth Officer & VP Chicago Office

Who Reports to You: No direct reports

Where You Work: Chicago, IL office (hybrid in-office)

Your Salary: $120,000- $145,000 (dependent upon years of experience)

Your Role (Responsibilities):

•    Lead and execute the business development planning component of the strategic plan

•    Work with McKissack Practice Leaders, the CGO, and regional office leaders to identify major project opportunities and develop plan to win the work

•    Gain access to upcoming projects across various sectors through current network/relationships and/or successful execution of current projects with clients

•    Develop working knowledge of brand reputation and capabilities of major competitors

•    Lead the go-no-go decision process

•    Lead the development and implementation of client databases and contract management system

•    Develop and monitor a system to identify and track new business leads, backlogs, opportunities for later wins, and proposal win rates

•    Execute all administrative responsibilities through entire sales process

•    Develop personal relationships with key external stakeholders (potential clients, contractors, lenders, consultants, etc.)

•    Manage key (internal and external) stakeholder hand-offs throughout the project process and sales lifecycle

  

 

What We NEED You to Have:

•    5+years of “end-to-end" sales cycle experience (including administrative responsibilities) in Construction or Engineering industries

•    Excellent written, verbal, communication, and organizational skills

•    Strong and effective customer service, analytical, problem-solving, and relationship building skills

•    Ability to immediately develop rapport with a variety of clients and potential leads during and after the sales process

•    Previous success applying emotional intelligence to further sales process

•    Ability to work independently and take initiative

•    5+years using MS Suite programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)

•    3-5+years using Vantagepoint, HubSpot, or Salesforce CRM

•    Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment

 

What we WANT you to Have:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

•    Minimum1 year experience in Vantagepoint CRM preferred
