McKissack & McKissack’s Washington, DC office has an immediate opening for a Office Assistant to join our expanding team.

As a result of a growing, diverse client base, McKissack and McKissack has an immediate opening for an Office Assistant in Washington, DC. We are seeking a self-motivated individual, interested in personal growth, who wants to be a member of our growing team. 

Office Assistant Work Hours: 8 hrs / day, 5days per week, 40 hours per week


What We are Looking For

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel). Skilled with Microsoft Word formatting functions to be able to format a document in accordance with a DCCR template or format a new document like a provided sample document.  PCO staff should be able to request word processing assistance from this person. This person should have the ability to review their work for major errors and correct them (or ask for and accept help).
  • Accurately type or retype a document.
  • Assistance to DCCR staff is upload/return of documents in Unifier. Training will be provided.  So, the skill we are looking for is the ability to learn how to use new software.
  • Upload and closeout of maintenance work orders in Green Drop on the GI Maintenance contracts. Training will be provided.  Again, the skill we are looking for is the ability to learn new software.
  • Become the DCCR SharePoint point of contact for new accounts and user access problems.
  • Maintain a listing of SharePoint users, their access rights, and persons requesting access.
  • Notify DCCR IT service provider (FusionTek) when someone’s access to the system should be revoked.
  • Office Management

             i)  Office supplies ordering/distribution

             ii) Copier maintenance (paper, ink) and point of contact for vendor visits

            iii) Coordinating in-office visits by DCCR IT service provider (FusionTek)

            iv) Stocking Break Room

             v) Coordinating new security badges/car hangtags and access to Blue Plains for DCCR visitors.

            vi) Coordinate/pickup luncheons/breakfasts for in-office functions, as necessary.

           vii) Weekly Work Log coordination for DCCR review

          viii) Maintenance of Sick Leave and Vacation Log

            ix) Maintaining all office conference rooms – scheduling; Equipment working; etc.
