Vice President Finance

We currently have an immediate opening for a Vice President of Finance to join our expanding team. As the Vice President of Finance, you will be responsible for the primary day-to-day planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company, and ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position.

Your Role (High level):

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Vice President of Finance will report to the CFO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. TheVP, Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company, and ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, property management, and institutional financing.

Your Role(Logistics):

Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer

Who Reports to You: All Finance Department Personnel

Where You Work: Hybrid(Washington, D.C.)

Your Role(Responsibilities):

·       Works with the President, CFO, and other executives to coordinate, plan and establish priorities for the planning process.

·       Provides leadership on the continuous evaluation of short andlong-term strategic financial objectives.

·       Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financialperformance and business opportunities.

·       Work with the senior management to efficiently develop proposal budgets, provide access to project finance information, and manage contract compliance and reporting.

·       Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.

·       Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization.

·       Coordinate the development of the annual operating, capital, and program budgets, and reporting against the same.

·       Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.

·       Ensure credibility of the Accounts department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts

·       Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

·       Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow.

·       Research economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areas of cost reduction and process enhancement.

·       Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments and evaluate and manage capital structure.

·       Oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, and other relevant regulations.

What We NEED You to Have:

·       Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance

·       5+ years’ experience in executive leadership positions

·       10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in A/E/C industry.  

·       Proficiency in a Windows environment, strong working knowledgeof Deltek and Excel  

·       Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and managewell at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locationsessential.

·       Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability toexercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timelyanalyses.

·       High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

What we WANT you to Have:

·       CPA and/or other financial certifications

·       Experience in the Architecture, Engineering or Construction industry  

·       Experience with Deltek software

·       Experience with global financial consolidation
