Community Outreach Project Manager

ROLE (High level):

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Community Outreach Project Manager to join our team. This role involves managing community engagement efforts for construction projects, ensuring effective communication and fostering positive relationships with local communities in the US Virgin Islands. This position will be based in the US Virgin Islands.

Your Role (Responsibilities):

  • Community Engagement: Develop and implement community outreach strategies to inform and engage local residents about upcoming and ongoing construction projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the construction team and community stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates.
  • Event Coordination: Plan and execute community meetings, open houses, and other events to facilitate dialogue and gather feedback from residents.
  • Public Relations: Collaborate with the PR team to create and distribute informational materials, including newsletters, press releases, and social media updates.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address potential community issues related to construction activities, working to mitigate impacts and find solutions.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed records of community interactions and feedback, providing regular reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure all outreach activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.

What We NEED You to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in community outreach, public relations, or a related field, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing community concerns.
