McKissack was selected by Unity Health Care, Inc. (Unity) for the interior design of its new 25,000 SF headquarters.
Having outgrown its existing space inside an operational clinic, the nonprofit organization sought to relocate its headquarters to a facility that catered to its current needs. The design process started with a programming exercise and conceptual test-fit of the proposed headquarters space. The main components of the program were the records/documents room, administration office, conference rooms, training room, reception and human resources. The firm also provided furniture, fixtures and equipment selection, as well as construction documentation and construction administration. Unity is a Federally Qualified Health Center that works in conjunction with DC Healthcare Alliance to provide healthcare to the uninsured, homeless and those of immigrant status by linking patients to the organization’s network of primary care physicians.
