McKissack provided construction inspection for citywide roadway projects and helped manage the City of Chicago Streetscaping Program.
This improvement program utilized the city’s labor forces and made numerous improvements throughout Chicago. The improvements include removal and replacement of roadways (concrete/asphalt), removal and replacement of curb/gutter, removal and replacement of sidewalks, Americans with Disabilities Act modifications to more than 1,900 curbs city-wide, and storm sewer improvements. The team planned and managed the entire streetscape improvement program. This included overall construction document and design review, estimating quantities and costs, construction phasing and utility coordination, maintenance of traffic, and inspection to ensure compliance with the Chicago Department of Transportation and overall U.S. Department of Transportation standards and requirements. The firm also maintained all records and provided complete documentation for the program.
