McKissack teamed with Campus Apartments of Philadelphia to develop two student residence halls for Howard University.
The halls are part of the university’s new master plan submission and initiative to bring students back to living on campus and provide Howard students with housing that has a sophisticated array of features and facilities. McKissack was responsible for providing program development, site selection, civil engineering, and architectural and interior design services. The firm also provided complete construction administration, as well as on-site quality assurance/quality control. Located at College and 4th Streets, NW is a new 7-story, 138,000 SF, 484-bed student residence hall programmed primarily for underclassmen and first-year students. Located at Bryant and 4th Streets, NW is a new, 6-story, 250,000 SF, 878-bed residence hall programmed primarily for underclassmen and first year students.
