Compton Unified School District Emergency Repair Program

McKissack oversaw all construction phases for this Hispanic and Black majority K-12 district, starting pre-construction with project coordination, implementation of procedures, value engineering, constructability reviews at design development and construction, developing a management control system, organizing planning workshops and meetings and estimating costs. The project scope encompassed pre-procurement, procurement, construction and project closeout, which includes delivery of final documents and the implementation of both warranty inspection and warranty work procedures for all contractors. McKissack worked with the Office of Public School Construction, under the Uniform Building Code and Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, and with the Division of the State Architect.
