We are proud to announce that our work on the Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center project, in partnership with HOK, has been honored once again, this time with the 2026 Excellence in Civic Development Award, presented by ULI Washington.

This award recognizes projects that enhance quality of life and civic engagement for the communities they serve. It means a great deal to us because that is exactly what Cedar Hill was built to do.

As the first new hospital to open in Washington, D.C. in more than two decades, this facility was designed from the ground up to serve a community that had gone far too long without adequate access to quality healthcare. From its biophilic design elements and access to natural light to its restored green spaces and community gathering areas, the building was conceived with a community-focused design and imagined to invoke healing at every turn.

Enriching lives through AEC is why our team shows up every day. It is an honor to receive this acknowledgement from ULI Washington, an organization whose commitment to responsible land use and transformative community impact we deeply admire.

“This award joins a growing list of accolades for Cedar Hill, which is a testament to what is possible when we all show up at the highest level for our communities,” said Founder and CEO Deryl McKissack. “I’m proud that our team can see how much their hard work is changing lives and making a positive impact.”
