Cedar Hill featured on the cover of Medical Construction and Design magazine.

We’re proud to share that one of our latest projects, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, is featured on the cover of Medical Construction and Design magazine.
As Architect of Record in collaboration with @HOK, our team is honored to have helped bring the first new hospital in Washington, D.C., in over 20 years to life. This milestone project will provide critical care to an underserved community and stands as a model for community-informed design.
“Our mission was clear: create a hospital that stands as a testament to thoughtful, community-focused design. Knowing that this facility will not only reshape the healthcare landscape but help rectify long-standing healthcare disparities made the project truly special.”
Our Founder and CEO, @Deryl McKissack

From the beginning, we engaged deeply with residents, healthcare providers, and community leaders to ensure the facility reflected their voices and needs. Every choice, from patient rooms with abundant natural lighting to vibrant artwork from local artists, was made with intention, compassion, and care.
Key Details about the Feature:
- Project Significance: The first new hospital in D.C. in over two decades, providing essential services like a trauma center, emergency departments, and maternal care.
- Design Focus: The magazine cover likely showcases its community-informed design, with elements like natural light, local art, and an architecture that blends with the historic St. Elizabeths campus.
- Industry Recognition: Featured by firms like Turner Construction, HOK, and McKissack & McKissack, who were involved in its design and construction, celebrating its impact on healthcare equity.
