City of Dallas 2017 Parks Bond Program
McKissack & McKissack was awarded this project as part of a joint venture partnership to support the City of Dallas (COD) with $261M worth of Parks and Recreation projects under Proposition B of the 2017 Bond Program.
The Dallas Parks system is one of the largest municipal park systems in the nation with 397 parks, totaling over 20,118 acres of developed and undeveloped park land allocated for recreational use. One of parks includes the famous Hall of State building in Dallas’ Fair Park that commemorates the history of the US state of Texas and is considered one of the best examples of Art Deco architecture in the state of Texas. McKissack provided comprehensive services for the City of Dallas as part of their joint venture, encompassing program and project management support throughout the Parks and Recreation projects. The work included developing and evaluating design and construction programs, schedules, and cost estimates, as well as grouping and sequencing construction activities to maximize efficiency. The team also took charge of communications and community outreach, implementing plans to engage stakeholders and ensure ongoing information sharing. Additionally, McKissack contributed to minority and women-owned business outreach, program performance measurement, and staff augmentation to support the city’s objectives.
