Navy Pier Centennial Vision Projects

During the first phase of the project, McKissack assisted with construction improvement oversight at Navy Pier, which attracts nine million guests annually. The first phase of the project included a Ferris wheel, a landscaped lakefront promenade, a food court fountain and a plaza. The firm was responsible for monitoring the progress and quality of work and attending preconstruction, construction and job site progress meetings. McKissack assisted with reviewing requests for alternates, changes, claims and proposals; reviewing and processing applications for progress payment; and making recommendations as required. When this project reaches completion, the firm will also assist in the closeout process. A hotel, outdoor performance areas and Chicago Shakespeare Theater expansion are envisioned in later phases.
