Presidential Inaugural Parade Viewing Stands
For the fourth time (2013, 2017, 2021, and 2025), McKissack & McKissack provided the design the Presidential Inaugural Reviewing Stands, - these recyclable structures are designed and built on a fast-track schedule for each inauguration.
Three stands constructed close to the White House make it possible for the president-elect, his staff and family, government officials and the press to safely view the inaugural parade and fulfill their professional obligations to the country during the event. The most monumental pavilion stands in front of the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW to accommodate the president-elect and his staff and family. The three-story media stand is located across Pennsylvania Avenue in Lafayette Park. An additional viewing stand serving the DC mayor’s staff is erected on the front steps of City Hall. McKissack has provided architectural design, construction documents, construction administration and as-built drawings for the construction of the PresidentialInaugural Reviewing Stands for the 2013, 2017, and 2021 events. Reviewing stands are newly built for each event and recycled afterward.
