Texas Woman's Unviversity New Student Union at Hubbard Hall
McKissack provided program management services to the Texas Woman’s University for a new student union at Hubbard Hall on the Denton campus.
The previous student union facility opened in 1970 when the university population was 5,810 students. Currently, the student population is upwards of 15,000 students on its three campuses. The new and renovated 130,000 SF Hubbard Hall houses food service, conference rooms, meeting rooms, retail, theatre/auditorium, lounge space, academic, student organizations, and administrative support services. McKissack led a tri-lateral primary project team. The responsibilities included establishing project goals, objectives, and standards to be used as a guide and checkpoints for all decisions on the project. McKissack developed a logistics and staging plan to ensure separation of students, staff, and construction traffic and workforce. As program management team, the firm oversaw the day-to-day management of the design and engineering consultants and establishing the quality of the project. Additionally, McKissack provided project management during construction.
