McKissack relocated its Washington, DC headquarters office to 901 K Street, NW—a 23,000 SF office and studio space.
The firm provided design, engineering, and project management services. The floor plan features offices, conferencing facilities, a high-end board room and entrance hall with state-of-the-art AV systems, as well as a sophisticated lighting/dimming system. The architecture and engineering studio spaces have been designed to facilitate collaborative work environments. Hoteling stations are located throughout the space, providing field personnel and visitors alike with temporary work stations. The space was conceived as an open plan, which allows for daylight and views of the exterior. In addition, McKissack provided procurement administration and management, scope development and general contractor contract negotiations. All technology, network infrastructure, AV equipment, security, and furniture, fixtures and equipment were separately procured and managed. Permit management and logistics were critical and resulted in an on time construction start.
