Washington Gas Operations Center

McKissack conducted an operations facility needs assessment for Washington Gas, evaluating its headquarters, Springfield, Virginia Operations Center, and two substations to determine the viability of consolidating operations within the company’s existing 509,000 facility. The assessment included blocking and stacking for 260,000 SF of office space and key support functions, including warehouse, conferencing, call center, fitness, and food service areas. McKissack also developed a conceptual test-fit to support strategic decision-making around the potential consolidation. While Washington Gas ultimately determined the scenario did not fully align with its transformational mission, the effort provided critical planning insight for future operational needs.
