As part of the Architect of Record (AOR) team, McKissack is responsible for Community and Stakeholder Engagement, Risk Management, Constructability Review, and Construction Phasing and Scheduling.
The iconic Chicago Union Station, the largest rail hub in the Midwest, serves over 110,000 visitors daily. The Union Station Concourse Improvement Project involves a comprehensive renovation of the 200,000 square foot complex and the addition of a new glass entry pavilion, all to be constructed while the facility is fully operational. Key to project success is to design and build the project in an optimal manner that allows for an improved rider experience, minimizes disruption to facility operations, and allows for safe movement of building occupants.
