City Colleges of Chicago New Malcolm X Campus

The Malcolm X College Campus is a state-of-the-art learning facility that serves approximately 20,000 students and includes a 1,500-space parking garage, campus landscaping and exterior treatments. The 500,000 SF academic building features a variety of specialized educational spaces that are designed to simulate those in real hospital, clinical and laboratory environments, with rooms and corridors sized to healthcare standards. The 530,000 SF site includes sidewalks and street tree planters with semi-permeable and permeable pavers, security, accent lighting and durable street furniture. McKissack oversaw day-to-day construction, providing quality assurance/quality control, field oversight and scheduling.
