McKissack & McKissack is seeking an experienced Vice President, Project Delivery Excellence to lead the firm's project delivery standards, operational consistency, quality management practices, project governance, and project management training initiatives across all regions.

This executive-level leader will work closely with Project Executives, Regional Leadership, Finance, and Operations to establish a consistent delivery framework that improves project outcomes, reduces risk, strengthens client satisfaction, and supports scalable growth.

The Vice President will serve as the firm's subject matter expert for project management methodology, PM/CM best practices, project startup, governance, quality assurance, and project controls integration. The position will help ensure that McKissack's project delivery approach aligns with recognized industry standards including PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) framework and the Construction Management Association of America's Certified Construction Manager (CCM) methodology.

Success in this role means creating stronger project visibility, fewer project surprises, improved operational consistency, earlier risk identification, and a repeatable delivery model that can scale with the firm's growth objectives. The role directly supports the roadmap objective of creating operational visibility, predictability, and control across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Project Delivery Standards & Governance

Develop and maintain McKissack's project delivery framework, procedures, templates, and governance standards.
Ensure delivery practices align with PMP, CCM, and industry best practices.
Establish project quality, risk management, controls, reporting, and documentation requirements.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance consistency, quality, and project outcomes.

Project Start-Up & Mobilization

Support the successful launch of new projects through project kickoffs, mobilization planning, and implementation of project-specific procedures.
Partner with Project Executives and project teams to establish delivery strategies, reporting structures, controls, and communication protocols.
Ensure projects are properly staffed, organized, and equipped for successful execution.

PMIS, Technology & Operational Systems

Lead the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of PMIS platforms and project delivery technologies.
Establish firmwide standards for project reporting, data management, and dashboarding.
Leverage automation, business intelligence, and AI-enabled solutions to improve visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.

Project Reviews & Performance Oversight

Conduct regular project health reviews across all regions.
Evaluate project performance related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client satisfaction.
Identify emerging risks and work with leadership to implement corrective actions before issues escalate.
Develop and maintain enterprise-level dashboards and early warning indicators that provide leadership with visibility into project performance.

Training & Capability Development

Develop and deliver project management training programs, workshops, and onboarding initiatives.
Mentor project managers and project executives on delivery best practices, PMIS utilization, project controls, and risk management.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Leadership & Collaboration

Partner closely with Project Executives, Regional Leadership, Operations, and Finance to improve project delivery performance across the enterprise.
Support major pursuits, strategic initiatives, and operational planning efforts.
Serve as the firm's subject matter expert for project delivery excellence, quality management, and operational best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Program Management, or Project Controls.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within a PM/CM, Owner's Representative, Engineering, Construction, or Program Management consulting organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large and complex PM/CM projects and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, quality management, project controls, risk management, and PMIS systems.
  • Experience developing project procedures, standards, and operational frameworks.
  • Strong facilitation, training, and leadership skills.
  • PMP or CCM certification.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading project delivery excellence, operational excellence, or quality management functions within a national PM/CM firm.
Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, or Total Quality Management experience.
Experience creating executive dashboards and project performance scorecards.
PSP, EVP, CCM, PMI-RMP, CCP, or related certifications.
Experience with Power BI, AI-enabled project delivery tools, and advanced reporting platforms.

Compensation

Salary range: $175,000 - $250,000/yearly (dependent on years of experience, competency, travel requirements)
