Audi Field DC United Soccer Stadium Infrastructure
McKissack provided key leadership for the infrastructure development supporting Audi Field, DC United’s 20,000‑seat Major League Soccer stadium at Buzzard Point.
The project anchored a 500,000‑square‑foot mixed‑use district of retail and residential space and helped transform the Capitol Riverfront into a vibrant, walkable waterfront neighborhood. McKissack led the site feasibility study and managed demolition planning, master utility design, environmental assessment and abatement, traffic maintenance, and permitting in a highly utility‑dense environment. The team coordinated closely with Pepco, Washington Gas, and Verizon to relocate major utilities and support stadium and ancillary development. McKissack also integrated green infrastructure to meet stormwater management requirements and led the development and implementation of a voluntary environmental cleanup program, enabling successful project delivery and long‑term community benefit.
