McKissack & McKissack was part of the team responsible for infrastructural development in preparation for the new major league soccer stadium for DC United.
McKissack led the Audi Field site feasibility study, development of demolition plans, master utility plan design for the surrounding site, on-site environmental assessment and abatement, maintenance-of-traffic, and permitting on this major project. Our responsibilities included: the development of utility plans while coordinating with planned construction by Pepco, Washington Gas and Verizon in a utility-dense project area. Utility lines were relocated to accommodate the new stadium development and ancillary facilities. Green infrastructure design was included effectively and efficiently to accomplish the stormwater management requirements of the District of Columbia’s Department of Energy and Environment, as well as, the Department of Transportation. McKissack was also responsible for leading the environmental cleanup effort which involved the development and implementation of voluntary cleanup program.
