McKissack & McKissack was selected by the Office of the Mayor of Washington, D.C. to lead site selection studies for the new Washington Wizards training facility and Washington Mystics arena.
As the mayor's chosen design firm, McKissack developed the conceptual design that was published in The Washington Post to garner support. The Wizards were looking for a new training facility to replace the existing Capital One training center. McKissack conducted site analysis studies for different options around the city, and the project landed at the St. Elizabeths Campus.
