Wintrust Arena

Wintrust Arena, located in Chicago’s Near South Side, is a modern venue hosting DePaul University basketball teams and the Chicago Sky. Since opening in October 2017, it has become a key part of the McCormick Square development, energizing the area as a hub for sports, entertainment, and tourism. McKissack played an integral role by providing essential project and construction management services for the design-build of this 300,000 square foot, 10,000-seat arena situated on the McCormick Place campus. McKissack’s responsibilities encompassed overseeing the entire project lifecycle, managing schedules, coordinating between stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Additionally, McKissack managed daily operations, facilitated communication among contractors, and maintained budget compliance. Through stringent quality control measures, McKissack guaranteed that the construction met high-performance criteria. McKissack’s proficiency was pivotal in delivering a cutting-edge arena that now stands as a central hub for sports, entertainment, and community events in Chicago.
