Project Executive - Healthcare Market Lead - Dallas, TX
Join McKissack & McKissack's team! Immediate opening for a Project Executive – Healthcare Market Lead in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, TX area.
McKissack & McKissack is expanding its healthcare practice and is seeking an accomplished healthcare leader to build and lead that growth. This is an opportunity to shape our healthcare strategy across one of the nation's largest and fastest-growing healthcare markets, develop executive relationships with leading health systems, build a team, and lead major capital programs from strategy through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow McKissack's healthcare practice throughout Texas, driving strategic business development, executive client engagement, and successful project delivery.
- Serve as the executive leader and subject matter expert for healthcare projects, including acute care hospitals, medical office buildings, outpatient facilities, behavioral health facilities, specialty treatment centers, research facilities, and healthcare campus modernization programs.
- Develop and execute a healthcare growth strategy aligned with McKissack's national healthcare objectives and regional business goals.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with healthcare systems, hospital leadership, public sector agencies, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and strategic industry partners.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new healthcare opportunities, leading capture strategy, proposal development, interviews, contract negotiations, and executive client presentations.
- Provide executive oversight and serve as senior client advisor for healthcare program management, construction management, owner's representation, and advisory services engagements.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, procurement, construction, activation, and operational readiness phases of healthcare projects.
- Oversee project controls, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Ensure healthcare projects comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, healthcare facility standards, life safety requirements, and accreditation guidelines.
- Advise clients on capital planning, healthcare facility modernization, operational continuity, infection control, phasing strategies, and patient safety considerations.
- Support project teams in occupied healthcare environments, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing clinical operations and patient care activities.
- Recruit, mentor, develop, and lead healthcare project professionals, including project managers, construction managers, project controls staff, and technical specialists.
- Collaborate with McKissack leadership to establish strategic partnerships, expand market presence, build a qualified healthcare pipeline, and strengthen McKissack’s position within the Texas healthcare sector.
- Prepare and present executive-level reports, strategic recommendations, and project updates to client leadership, governing boards, and company executives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare facility planning, program management, construction management, owner's representation, healthcare operations, or capital project delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing large-scale healthcare capital programs and complex healthcare facility projects exceeding $100 million in project value.
- Strong understanding of healthcare planning, facility operations, infection prevention requirements, regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and healthcare project delivery best practices.
- Proven experience working within active hospital and healthcare environments while maintaining operational continuity and patient safety.
- Successful track record of business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth within the healthcare market sector.
- Demonstrated ability to identify healthcare capital programs early, develop executive relationships before formal procurement, and position the firm for major pursuits.
- Established relationships within the healthcare industry, including healthcare systems, hospital leadership, design firms, contractors, and industry organizations.
- PMP, CCM, PE, RA, CHC, FACHE, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Strong working knowledge project management, scheduling, project controls, and reporting platforms such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Power BI.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and client management skills.
- Ability to travel as required to support healthcare projects and business development initiatives.
Compensation
- Salary range: $190,000 - $225,000/yearly (commensurate with experience, business development capability, industry relationships, and travel requirements).
- Performance-based incentive compensation and annual bonus opportunity.
