BGE ESTEP Loch Raven Phase II

The BGE Loch Raven Substation is located at the corner of Hillen Road and Ramblewood Road, Baltimore, MD. McKissack is providing Construction Management Services for the BGE Loch Raven Substation to expand capacity and improve reliability by installing GIS at both existing and new sites. The work involves constructing a modern gas insulated substation on the Belvedere Gardens Shopping Center property at Hillen Road and Ramblewood Road. This facility will initially feature two 80 MVA transformers, a 115kV GIS with four breaker-and-a-half bays (expandable to five), metal-clad walk-in switchgear with thirty-two 13.8kV feeder positions, additional series breakers, and dual stage capacitor banks. The final design will accommodate four transformers and eight capacitor banks, enhancing capacity and reliability for the area.
