Hazelton Secure Female Facility
McKissack provided construction management support services for the Hazelton Secure Female Facility, a medium-security federal institution in Hazelton, West Virginia.
Developed to support safe, secure, and professionally managed operations, the facility provides housing, support services, and program space for approximately 512 residents within a thoughtfully planned campus environment.
The $69 million project encompasses approximately 21,380 square meters and includes two multi-level housing buildings, a special housing unit, and a variety of support service facilities within a secure compound. The project also included expansion of the existing Central Utility Plant serving the Hazelton Federal Correctional Complex, ensuring reliable infrastructure and longterm operational efficiency.
McKissack’s construction management expertise helped deliver a modern facility designed to support daily operations, staff effectiveness, and access to educational, vocational, counseling, healthcare, and other rehabilitative services. By providing a safe and functional environment for both residents and staff, the facility supports the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ mission of promoting personal development, institutional stability, and successful community reintegration.
