Dallas Memorial Arena Renovation & Reconstruction at the Key Bailey Hutchison Convention Center
McKissack is managing the renovation and reconstruction of the Arena.
The Dallas Memorial Arena, a historic circular venue at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, seats around 9,800 and spans over 21,000 square feet. Built in 1957 and repeatedly updated, it is now being modernized to NBA standards for the Dallas Wings while maintaining its historic essence. Planned upgrades include enhanced seating, lighting, acoustics, accessibility, and amenities. McKissack’s upgrades will optimize crowd movement, enhance sound quality, and provide adaptable layouts to cater to diverse event needs. McKissack’s full design and construction management services include architect and CMAR selection, design reviews, bid oversight, and construction supervision. The firm also manages daily operations—tracking schedule, budget, project controls, and risk planning. With a strong focus on quality and community engagement, McKissack is helping transform the Arena into a vibrant symbol of innovation, culture, and economic growth for the City of Dallas.
