Historic Raymond Elementary School Modernization Design-Build, Net-Zero Energy
McKissack led program management and quality control oversight for the Historic Raymond Elementary School Modernization Design-Build, Net-Zero Energy.
Delivered for the Department of General Services in support of DC Public Schools, the project included reconstruction, restoration, remodeling, and renovation of the existing facility, along with a new 8,000-square-foot, three-story addition to support growing student and community needs. The revitalized campus features discovery commons spaces, small group rooms, resource rooms, playgrounds, athletic surfaces, site improvements, bio-retention facilities, and upgraded underground utilities and storm structures. Sustainability and performance were central to the modernization, with air- and water-tight window systems, a PVC roof with green roof components, roof-mounted photovoltaic arrays, geothermal wells, and design elements supporting Net-Zero achievement and WELL Standards.
