The new construction on this project involved a single-story structural concrete building consisting of an approximately 36,900 square foot (SF) floor plate. This design-built project involved the construction of a new single-story, 36,900 SF structural concrete building consisting of a 16,000-square-foot hardened secure area dedicated to emergency operations. Additionally, the 9,000 SF warehouse includes seven vehicle bays and a service mezzanine, providing essential support for emergency response activities. The facility will include support systems that will allow the facility to function independently of public services. For this design-build project, McKissack provided project management services to help ensure the project objectives are completed on time and within budget. In this role of providing construction project management services, the team worked closely with Dallas County on scheduling, safety, and budgeting to guarantee the success of this essential project.
