Pepco Holdings HQ Edison Place—Headquarter Consolidation and Renovation
Pepco intends to reduce the use of 10 floors to 6 floors, while continuing with the utilization of floors 2,3 and 7 - 10.
Pepco, an Exelon company, is consolidating its headquarters, reducing from 10 to 6 floors and renovating 210,000 sf with McKissack providing interior and furniture design, programming, and restacking services. The project applies Exelon standards for increased density and efficient space use, featuring executive offices, boardroom, various meeting rooms, general office space, a cafe, and IT infrastructure. Key challenges include an accelerated one-year schedule, streamlined client decision-making, and COVID-19 protocols. Interior work covers selective demolition, finishes, new furniture, and technology upgrades, while MEP work addresses power, lighting, safety, and special mechanical needs. The design aims for understated impact, aligns with Exelon’s workplace strategy, increases collaborative and individual spaces, enhances natural light and technology, and reinforces the company’s brand and culture.
