McMillan Sand Filtration Site Owner's Representative Services
McKissack provided construction and development management services for a large‑scale mixed‑use redevelopment that transformed a historic infrastructure site into a vibrant, community‑focused destination while preserving significant historic elements.
The redevelopment retained key features of the original infrastructure, including sand storage bins, four regulator houses, a sand washer, eleven filter bed portals, and two acres of underground filter beds. The project re‑established public access across the property and ultimately delivered a comprehensive mixed‑use program, including 146 townhomes, 531 apartments, a grocery store, supporting retail, more than one million square feet of healthcare facilities, an 8‑acre central park, a 17,000‑square‑foot community center, walking trails, and the careful integration of preserved historic components throughout the site. McKissack oversaw scheduling, budget control, entitlements, bid evaluation, and field construction requirements, ensuring work was performed in accordance with project goals and within established budget and schedule parameters. Through attentive coordination and stewardship, McKissack helped deliver a redevelopment that balanced historic preservation with long‑term community investment.
